Uncovering Treasures in Your Employee Benefits

February 18, 2015 By Katie Brewer

Treasure

Do you understand your options on employee benefits such as disability insurance or life insurance? If your employer offers multiple retirement plan options, do you wonder if you are signed up for the best retirement plan for you? If you’re like most people the answer is probably “I have no idea”.

I am honored to be featured on Money.com this month to talk about how a financial planner can help clients both understand the importance of employee benefits and guide them through maximizing their employee benefits.

Many people don’t know the true value of employee benefits offered in the workplace. When it’s time for open enrollment, many employees may check the boxes on their benefits forms without really understanding what’s being offered or what is actually needed. That’s where the help of a professional comes in.

As a financial planner who specializes in working with Gen X and Gen Y professionals, I perform a comprehensive review of employee benefits as a part of a complete financial plan. I can identify potential gaps in insurance coverage, or tax-saving accounts that you are not taking advantage of.

If you have questions about this or if you would like to review your employee benefits, please schedule an appointment so we can ensure you understand your benefits and have the coverage you need.
