It’s been seven years since I launched Your Richest Life, and it has been quite a journey!
This past year was a big one. There were changes and hurdles for my clients due to the pandemic, and we all dealt with things we didn’t anticipate.
Like many working mothers of dual-income households, the sudden change to virtual school at home for the spring of 2020 and the entire school year of 2020-2021 created some challenges.
We had to adjust to our whole family working and learning at home. We rearranged some of our rooms and decided who would get what space. I tried to take a lunch break most days to give my daughter some sense of normalcy. We would play a board game or just chat, and that’s something that I will cherish as a fond memory going forward.
Despite the challenges, it has also been an exciting year because I added another planner, Angel Melgoza, CFP® to the team. I am honored to have him on board, and excited to see how his expertise benefits Your Richest Life and our clients.
Here are some of the highlights of my seven years in business:
- Working with over 140 families to date
- Working with over 40 families on an ongoing basis
- Expanding the Your Richest Life team
- Contributing to websites and publications like Business Insider, CBS News and Nerdwallet
- Writing more than 160 blog posts for my own website
I was also honored to be listed as a D Magazine Best Financial Planner for the sixth year in a row, and an Investopedia Top 100 Financial Advisor for the second time.
I’ve continued to grow my team this year and look for new ways to add value for my clients. Regardless of what’s going on in the world, my mission remains the same: to help my clients have the guidance and resources they need to build the life of their dreams.
As a fee-only financial planner, I am committed to helping my clients achieve overall financial well-being. I love the work I do because I get to work with my awesome clients while still having the freedom to give back to the community and spend time with my family.
It’s been a fun year for my family, too. My daughter will be starting sixth grade this year, and she enjoyed attending middle school camp this summer.
My husband continues to be happy in his work as an aerospace engineer. He has also acquired yet another guitar for his collection.
We recently took a trip to North Carolina, where we enjoyed tubing on a lake, hanging out with family, and just enjoying nature.
As always, my biggest thank you goes to my husband and my daughter, who have supported me through all the ups and downs that come with running a business. I am also blessed to be surrounded by friends and mentors in the industry who have been kind enough to lend a helping hand or a new perspective along the way.
And of course, thank you to my clients for trusting me with your questions, your dreams and your fears. I have been honored to work with so many amazing people from the beginning. I am looking forward to what this year has in store for Your Richest Life.
